Eyes-Free

The Thumbpad is can be operated solely by touch, allowing for heads-up operation. The thumbpad is the perfect companion to AR glasses. You can text, answer emails or find a place to eat while on-the-go.

Repeatable tactile gestures make input automatistic. Automaticity is a human ability that allows unconscious operation so you to stay focused on the task, making you more productive.

Deterministic

Unlike T9, Thumbpad gestures are unambiguous. There’s no need to rely on predictive algorithms that try to guess at what you are attempting to type. What you type is what you get!

AR/Smart Glasses

How It Works

The Keytouch Thumbpad is an input device that translates simple thumb gestures into simulated keystrokes. Three types of touch gestures on ten dual-sense touch targets replace the individual keys of a traditional keyboard. Indents in the surface provide tactile feedback that help guide the thumb to the touch targets allowing eyes-free operation.

A dual-force action button acts as both Mouse Click and Enter Key.

Three Types of Touch Gestures

Simple Touch – Numbers are selected with a simple touch of a target as are the letters t, g and b plus shift and space.

Directional Touch – A directional touch gesture is accomplished by moving tour thumb slightly left or right within a target.

Swipe – Slide your thumb horizontally or vertically 1 to 3 positions to select additional characters or functions.

Typing Characters

Targets are visually marked with ovals. For targets with a single character inside the oval simply touch the target to type the character. For targets with two characters inside the oval, touch the target them move your thumb very slightly to the left or right to type the corresponding left or right character. Characters outside of the oval are typed by touching the target and then sliding the finger over the character to the adjacent position.

Example

To type “dog” – swipe from target 4 to target 5; right-touch target 3, touch target 5.
